The Weathered Fence Series explores how construction fences fall apart as they age in place at construction sites.
These pieces are monoprinted, handstamped, handpainted, and stitched fabric, that is stiffened, to provide a construction fence-like feel when touching it. Holes are cut out of various parts of the stiffened fabric, so shadows and pattern can be seen through them. These pieces can be exhibited a few inches away from the wall, or as an installation where viewers can walk around them to see both sides of these pieces (both sides have color on them), just as one might walk around an actual construction fence.
These pieces were exhibited in Walls and Webs, at the Narrows Center for the Arts, in Fall River, Massachusetts. See more pictures of Jeanne's work in the show.
