Contemporary abstractions that combine grids from orange construction fences and rich textured mixed media surfaces.
The Holes in the Fences series are abstractions of construction fences and their holes. The inspiration is from the scraps of "holes" that were left over from Jeanne's Weathered Fences series. These paintings are on 18” x 24" x 1.5" cradled board created in 2010.
In 2025, I collaged a layer of monoprinted textures of construction fence fabric, with the large holes removed, over five of the original six paintings, and added additional paint on the new layer. They were then renamed Holes in the Fences Revisited #1, #3, #4, #5, and #6.
Holes in the Fences #2 was sold to a collector a number of years ago and was not updated for obvious reasons.
