Contemporary abstractions that combine grids from orange construction fences and rich textured mixed media surfaces.
The Traces of Past Fences #1-12 series was created in 2010 from the large drop cloth I used (back then), which I cut up and mounted on twelve 9" x 12" x .75” cradled boards.
The series was in the deCordova Museum (Lincoln, MA) Corporate Art Loan Program, and had a number of placements in corporate setting in the Boston area starting in October 2011. I brought them home on July 11, 2025.
Back at home, I added sections of monoprinted textures of construction fence fabric, and additional paint, on all twelve of the original paintings, and then renamed them Traces of Past Fences Revisited, similar to my recently updated series, Holes in the Fences Revisited.
